Are two PC’s in a day PC?

Yesterday saw the launch of the Sultan’s Cup Terengganu Endurance Challenge 2007 and the CSI 5* KL Grand Prix with press conferences at the Palace of the Golden Horses and Taman Equestrian Putrajaya respectively. We were treated to a pageant, the delightful sight of our beloved Minister of Sport getting mounted, and of course lots of good food. What’s a press conference without some good makan?

While the KL Grand Prix was more of a sponsorship launch – the Minister said it should be sponsored by more than just the government – the Sultan’s Cup ostensibly was just launching, elaborately, their event. Which is all fine and good except that entries hadn’t yet closed, so we didn’t exactly know who would be coming here. The ride is three months away.

So why the need for two PC’s on the same day? Is equestrian inundation actually good for the media?
