Draw Music

Today, as I prepared the materials for the South East Asian Games Polo draw to decide the schedule, I was asked if we would like some music to go along with the draw.  What a wonderful idea!  Then came the realisation that I should be the one to choose some music with the draw.

What music would you choose for a draw, I asked myself?  Well, instrumental I thought would be better than trying to talk over someone singing.  I decided on orchestral, though not necessarily classical.

For the introduction of the draw and schedule, I thought we would have some happy, dramatic music for the occasion.  John’s William’s Star Wars Main Theme came to mind.

For the actual draw process, I thought it should be something dramatic.  Keeping with the Star Wars theme, I thought of the Imperial March from The Empire Strikes Back.  Or more dramatically Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries.

If Malaysia gets a good draw then I thought we could finish with the cannons from Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture Finale.

If it is a bad one, then we could go out with Abinoni’s Adagio in G Minor.
