PEPPR_roundlogoThe 2017 polo season got underway and the first PoloEquestrian.com Polo Player Ranking points were awarded in 2017.

The B Grimm Thai Polo Open was the first tournament of 2017.  The 14 goal RMPA International League Tournament was held at the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club.

The following weekend saw an 8-goal test match arranged for two Malaysian SEA Games Squad Teams to spar against Thai based opposition, and each other.  It was won by Malaysia B, comprising of Shaik Reismann, Amran Selamat, Cipita and Dato’ Mohd Zekri.

They overcame Malaysia’s Youth and Sports Minster Y.B. Maj. General Khairy Jamaluddin, Saladin Mazlan, Tengku Shazril and Toh Muda Rizal Ramli, who played a Malaysia “A”.

Despite the loss, Tengku Shazril managed to regain the top spot on PEPPR, narrowly overhauling Raul Laplacette, who was not involved in any of these matches.

There were twelve new entries to the rankings, which now has 120 South East Asian Players ranked.
