The Technical Handbook for Polo at the 29th South East Asian Games has been released by MASOC. The SEA Games shall be a 4 to 6 goal tournament played under FIP’s international rules. The Tournament Director appointed by FIP is John D Fischer or Perth, Western Australia.
Players must be nationals of the country they represent, and entry can only be made by the Olympic Council of that country.
Players must hold international handicaps of between 0 and 3 goals to play in their national team at this tournament.
These are the same handicap rules as used in Bangkok in 2007, the last time polo was played at the SEA Games.
Six countries submitted their entry by number to participate in Polo at the 29th South East Asian Games. They are (in alphabetical order):
Malaysia are the defending champions of SEA Games Polo, having won in 1983 (Singapore) and 2007 (Thailand), the two times polo was held as part of the South East Asian Games.
